RANCHI: They lingered in the subconscious long after the lights had dimmed at the Birsa Munda Athletics Stadium and the high-wattage sound system had fallen silent. The 34th National Games opened on Saturday to a riot of colours, the sights and sound taken to a crescendo by artistes and an exploding night sky of fireworks with Bollywood stars Vivek Oberoi, Amisha Patel and Sameera Reddy performing for the 33,000-strong audience.
