Date issues and ever-changing shoot schedules make the actress opt out of the Sunny Deol starrer
Ameesha Patel who has always been very fond of her Gadar director Anil
Sharma has walked out of the film. According to sources, `Ameesha's busy
schedule for her other commitments wasn't something that the
director was too happy about.
Those close to him say that Anil Sharma is a self-minded person and
feels that if he has signed her for the film she should be available for
him whenever he needs her. He is of the view that she shouldn't do any
other
work till his film doesn't release which hasn't gone down well with the
actor.`
Ameesha is known to be professional and always on time on the sets. She
always adjusts dates for her producers be it for the producer of Race 2
or any other film. The actress is apparently upset with the several date
changes that have been made.
The source adds, `The director has taken her so much for granted that
it's over three months and the director has not even given the actor a
signing amount. She has not even made a contract with the actor and in
spite of that Ameesha went ahead with her commitment.`
The sources further adds, `Ameesha not only had meetings with her
costume designer Neeta Lulla who also had started working on costumes
without being paid for but also sat for several story narrations.`
Ameesha who is always known to believe in maintaining relationships did
not let all this come in the way of the film. But when dates kept
changing month after months, it affected the schedules of her four other
films.
She was supposed to be shooting in November then got pushed to December.
The source continues, `Her December dates were further changed to
January and now when she asked for certain dates so she could
commit to her other films and endorsements shoots the director went
ahead and said that he's still unsure and many changes could be further
made. All this made Ameesha take her decision.`
Further, the delay was getting endless and when Ameesha asked the
director for 2013 dates, his answer was anytime between February and
April and she must keep 60 days for the film. Ameesha who's a very
professional person found this very unprofessional and felt it's better
she backed out of the film.
Confirming the development Ameesha says, `Yes, I am backing out of the
film due to several complications of dates and delays in the project. If
I continue to be in the film it will affect the dates and planning of
my other
projects. I have utmost respect for Anil Sharma and I am hopeful that we
will work together again sometime in future.`
Ameesha Tweeted " yes news is true..iv had to back out of. Siingh saheb the great due to ever changing schedules..my best wishes to Anil sharm.Hope anil sharma makes another kikass film like gadar.unfortunately I can't b a part of the film"
Filmmaker Anil Sharma, who is bringing back Ameesha Patel and Sunny Deol together for a movie after 2001 hit "Gadar: Ek Prem Katha", says the new film, titled " Singh Sahab - The Great" will go on floors towards the end of this month.
"'Singh Sahab - The Great' will go on floors by November end and it's a 50-day shoot till Jan 20. We are planning to shoot the film in Bhopal and Indore," Sharma told IANS.
Sharma has maintained a low profile post "Veer", but he is now ready to set the ball rolling with action-comedy "Singh Sahab - The Great".
He is confident the chemistry between Ameesha and Sunny will work in favour of his movie.
"Sunny and Ameesha look good together. They both got good reviews for their chemistry in 'Gadar...'.
Ameesha is a good friend and I am sure they will recreate the same
magic on the silver screen. They both have good roles in this film,"
said Sharma.
Talking further about the film, he said: "'Singh Sahab - The Great' is a satire. The film has entertainment, action and a mix of everything. This film will be one of Sunny's finest roles."
The director, who has also directed movies like "Apne" and "Madhoshi", says his 2003 film "The Hero: Love Story of a Spy", has a scope for sequel.
"I don't want to make a sequel just for the heck of it. I feel the stories of 'Gadar...' and 'Veer' have ended. My film 'The Hero: Love Story of a Spy' has a scope for sequel. Maybe in future I can think about it," he said. The 45-day filming
schedule includes shoots in about two dozen locations in the Bhopal,
apart from locations in Indore and Maheshwar. "The total budget is about
Rs 35 crore.Amisha Patel and Amrita Rao would be seen in Bhopal in November".he added. 'Sunny plays the role of a
collector in the film, which is a satirical comedy on corruption," said
Sharma. However, fans in anticipation of catching a glimpse of Sunny
Deol would have to wait until December, as the actor is currently busy
shooting in London.
GADAR team of director AnilSharma n actors SunnyDeol Ameesha back with'Singh saheb the great' Ameesha Patel, who plays a Punjabi girl opposite Sunny Deol in Anil Sharma's next, Singh Saheb The Great, is excited about teaming up with the director after more than a decade (they did Gadar: Ek Prem Katha together in 2001).
The offer took her by surprise. She reveals, "I was celebrating Ganeshotsav in my office when I got a call from Anil Sharma
asking if we could meet. I thought he just wanted to casually come
over. In the evening, when we met and he gave me a brief narration and
asked if I would be open to playing the lead, I was like, 'Oh my God!
This is so unexpected.' The auspicious mood only added to my joy of
saying yes to the film."
"Anil and I share a comfort level as a director and an actor. When we
came together for the first time, I was still raw, yet he extracted a
superlative performance from me. Post that, there were other offers by
him but I wanted to do a film that would justify our coming together.
And Singh Saheb The Great does that. I am proud to be back
working with him and I'm confident that he will get the best out of me
this time too," adds Ameesha.
The actress says, "Whether it is Shortcut Romeo or Race 2, every film has me doing something different. Plus, there's Desi Magic under my home banner with me playing a double role."
