Ameesha Patel has a special appearance in Race 2 as Anil Kapoor's assistant. The actress plays a ditzy character.
About her role, producer Ramesh Taurani says, "I was sure Ameesha would fit the bill perfectly. She loved the role. Though her role isn't big, it has substance. We convinced her to take up the role the film has a lot of other big names as well." Taurani adds, "We have worked with Ameesha before and she is a thorough professional. She has also worked with Abbas-Mustan before. So everything fell into place when we were working out the details for this film."
Ameesha, too, is happy as she thinks she was getting typecast. "I was only getting roles of a certain kind and wanted to break that image." The actress plays a ditzy, dimwit character who brings comic relief in the movie which is essentially a thriller.
"Playing a silly and stupid character was challenging, but I'm glad it has turned out well. The very fact that I get to be part of a film which has actors like Anil Kapoor, Saif Ali Khan and others is a huge thing for me. I am very happy with the way things have turned out," sums up Ameesha.
