though she is visiting the holy city as part of UTV Stars' programme
'Star in the city', Bollywood actress Amisha Patel plans to use the
godsent opportunity to get a feel of the real Punjab by meeting her
hundreds of fans, take a round of Amritsar as a 'normal' tourist and
savour the delicacies the holy city is known for the world over.
Attired in a yellow 'kurti' and orange 'salwar' matched with a bright
pink 'dupatta', 'The Gadar' star told media persons on Monday, "UTV
Stars in the City is a novel concept to bring stars closer to their
fans. I visited Amritsar during the shooting of Gadar and some other
movies also but never got a chance to roam around like a tourist in the
holy city."I have heard a lot about the 'phulkari dupattas' and the 'sarson da
saag' one gets to eat here. Now that since I am here, I am going to do a
lot of shopping and taste all the food the city is famous for.
Pointing out that Amritsar was a nice place to visit and the locals
were equally good, Amisha said that she was really looking forward to
seeing the holy city.
"I love Punjabi movies. I have seen 'Jatt and Juliet' and 'Carry on
Jatta'; I really liked these. In fact, I think, Bollywood producers, who
have made remakes of hit southern films, should also start remaking
Punjabi hits," she remarked
She said she was excited to see audience reaction to her latest movie
'Shortcut Romeo' in which she is portraying a negative character for
the first time.
"My next movie 'Desi Magic' has been produced by my own Amisha Patel
Productions. I have essayed a double role in it: one of a Punjabi girl
and another of a spoilt brat from the West. You will get to see farms,
tractors and shades of Punjab in it," she signed off.
UTV Stars took AmeeshaPatel to Amritsar where she met her fans post which she visited Hall bazaar and
shopped for traditional Punjabi suits. She even made some lassi to
escape the heat! She ended the day by doing some seva at the Gurudwara!
Today she was talking to her fans live on BIG FM 92.7 and visited some farms where she tried her hand at farming!
