POST EVENT RELEASE- Pratap Sarnaik’s “Dahi Handi” in the Cultural Heartland witnessed galaxy of stars at Thane, 12 mandals achieved 8 tiers ,5 mandals tried for 9 tiersand 1tried for 10 tier ,it was an eventful day and Pratap Sarnaik deserves kudos for putting such a magnanmious show which made it the most biggest prize money around 1 crore which had lot of mandals vying for it John Abraham came in with Vipul shah and interacted with the crowd over 50 thousand people which was phenomenal crowd the enthusiasim of the people was great
John removed his shirt on the crowds demand and showed is packs as well .

He told pratap sarnai that this was one of the most amazing events he has attended which has such interactive audience Pratap sarnaik presented a anna topi to all the guests to mark support towards anna hazare movement and all our celebs said they support the movement He broke the dahi handi and did get slight injury which did not deter his indomitable spirit to celebrate the gokulashtami festival with grace,dedication and aplomb Neha Dhupia showed up in an indian outfit and looked gorgeous and also tried her hand at breaking the dahi handi and awarded the only women dahi handi team

Pratap sarnaik played aperfect host along with his sons vihang and purvaish sarnaik the crowd swayed to Ramji gulati pulsating music throughout the day and also he sang a song he wore a krishna printed tshirt while Ameesha Patel came with friends and also broke the handi and had a great time and said she is coming back next year too. Udita Goswami and Rohit roy walked in together. Sameer dattani was also there briefly, Aditya thackeray along with his entourage made a grand entry towards the climax of the evening. Event of “Dahi Handi” in the Cultural Heartland of Thane. This year the festival of Gokulashtami falls on 22nd of August. It also happens to be the day that we in Maharashtra celebrate the festival with the organising ofthe event of “Dahi Handi”.It will Be the richest handi in the City approx 1 crore rs.

       Over the years, our event in Thane City has grown from strength to strength to become one of the largest in the country. Our event has grown from being not only just one of the richest in-terms of price monies, to being one of the most prestigious. It is the place where records are set, in terms of the biggest “Human Pyramids”. In fact last year, as reported by your organisation and other media groups, the event led to the creation of a world record with the successful completion of a “Human Pyramid” of 9 tiers. This record was achieved by 2 different teams, in their attempt to reach the 45 feet high “Handi”. It has become such a large event that in the last year we saw more than 50,000 people coming to the venue to witness the event.

The Teams are encouraged and the visitors are entertained with a cultural event held at the venue, which will see the well known artists of Marathi and hindi Stage and Cinema performing. The stage will be designed by Nitin Chandrakanth Desai , one of India’s big names in the field of art direction and also we have tied up with the UFO group ,who will shoot the whole event using “3D cameras”.We also have a plan of making a 3D documentary movie on the festival of dahi handi.

This year with more than 150 teams vying for the prize and also the title of being the champion team in the city, we are planning to raise the bar even further and inspire the teams to do even better.

Like every year, our event will comprise of 3 sections – The Mumbai Handi, the Women Only Handi and the Thane Only Handi. We expect that in the course of the full event which will start at 10 am on 22nd August and end at 10 pm on the same day, almost 150 teams will display their skills and abilities.

Pratap Sarnaik says “This year we have prizes worth a crore , considering the competition between the mandals. we also have a spacial prize of 5 lakhs for women mandals touching 7 tires, also the whole event will be shot using 3D cameras of a 6 camera setup.
